Amcor is enhancing its expertise in rigid and flexible packaging for the de-icing market. The company says that it is now capable of designing and manufacturing containers, trigger sprays, and bags in different shapes and sizes.
Amcor’s latest rigid packaging solutions include rectangular containers, jerry cans, and trigger spray bottles. The range is tailored to accommodate the different characteristics of each product, ensuring improved protection, ease of handling and storage, and reliable performance under harsh conditions, all while supporting sustainability objectives.
Katrina Burrett, product line director at Amcor Rigid Packaging Solutions International, says: “According to Inkwood Research, the European Industrial Salts market has been growing with a CAGR of about 1.55 % during the forecast period 2019-2027.”

“We are seeing several different types of de-icing products on the market, and this is why it is important to provide the widest range of practical and functional pack solutions to help companies maximize opportunities in the sector.”
Meeting diverse requirements
The rectangular containers can be produced entirely using PCR plastic. The packaging shape enables easy stacking, with a resealable lid to keep the product safely contained, while a carry handle supports easy handling and pouring.
The lightweight jerry can be applied to chemical applications. The solution includes a Jeroboam closure for anti-glug, controlled dispense, with a locking system for safe transportation. It can be produced with up to 50% PCR and is said to be appropriate as a refill solution for large containers.
The all-plastic trigger pump design, including a plastic spring, aims to reduce corrosion risks and improve recyclability by avoiding mixed materials. Amcor says that it can be customized with different nozzles, levers, and dip tube options, while providing a screw closure for refill packs. It is also available with up to 50% PCR.
Amcor’s flexible bags range can be used for all VFFS and FFS film formats for 1–25 kg applications. They are said to provide “strong moisture protection to minimize product clumping, with excellent tear and puncture resistance to ensure long-lasting durability in challenging environments.” The solution’s recycle-ready structures can reportedly include up to 50% recycled content.
