During this period, 38% of consumers worldwide cited food quality preservation when purchasing Coffee, highlighting the importance of packaging. Folded boxes emerged as the dominant packaging format for Hot Drink launches, with carton materials leading globally, while the adoption of bio-based materials continued to grow.

Innova Market Insights data shows an increase in global F&B launches using fiber-based packaging. Europe led these launches, accounting for 42% of NPD. The Bakery category emerged as the top segment for product launches utilizing fiber-based packaging, while Hot Drinks launches also showed an upward trend in the adoption of such packaging.

One in three of these launches were in Europe. Flexible materials (including plastics) were most used in Bakery and Snacks, but their use in Confectionery increased.
