K 2025: Cannon to unveil e-Forming machines for thermoplastic pallets and trays

Cannon will introduce its patented e-Forming thermoforming range of machines at K 2025, Düsseldorf, Germany, October 8–15. The machines are designed to lower energy usage and adopt new concepts in optimized machine geometries, intelligent power management, and AI-driven automatic parameter setting.

The e-Forming series can be used for manufacturers of large, thermoformed parts, including thermoplastic pallets and trays. The machines apply Cannon’s patented Triplo, an adjustable tool change system that provides “the maximum standard in safety and compatibility.”

Our new e-Forming machines confirm Cannon’s legacy of solid performance while introducing smart automation, intuitive operation, and enhanced flexibility — key factors in meeting the evolving demands of small-batch production.”

AI-driven system

The e-Forming series has an intuitive interface that assists operators by recommending optimal processing parameters during setup and operation. 

Easy Power Mapping is the heart of the system, according to the company. The AI-powered and patented innovation can intelligently configure machine initial settings to advance process stability, enhance material distribution, lower sheet thickness, and reduce energy use.

The machines also feature Cannon’s Easy Tool Change system, which is said to enable fast, safe, and complete tool changes. It offers an advantage for high-mix, low-volume manufacturing. 

The updated mechanical design makes maintenance easier by providing better access to its components, and its compact design ensures the machine can be installed in spaces where others may not fit. 

The company says that another advantage is its connectivity, as the proprietary Connect-IT system enables integration of the machines into factory information systems via standard industrial communication protocols.
