Packaging plays a key role in this trend, supporting the increase in global Bakery launches. Recyclable was the leading sustainable claim for these launches, while the use of the Vegetable Ink claim is also increasing.

Innova Market Insights data shows that there was a 4% average annual growth in global F&B plastic packaging launches with a Flexible claim, from July 2020 to June 2025. One in three of these launches were in Europe. Flexible materials (including plastics) were most used in Bakery and Snacks, but their use in Confectionery increased.
