INC-5: Accelerated progress needed for plastic treaty success

The fourth round of negotiations for a UN Global Plastics Treaty concluded two weeks ago in Canada. We speak with Neil Nathan, project scientist at the Benioff Ocean Science Laboratory, University of California, Santa Barbara, US, about the progress made since INC-3. We also discuss what the US blockage on the negotiations means for the climate crisis and what Nathan expects from negotiators at the INC-5.
