We sit down with Dr. Rachel Coppock, a marine ecologist at the UK’s Plymouth Marine Laboratory, to discuss her work on a UK government-funded grant to assess the environmental risks of biodegradable bioplastics. Coppock explains how her lab’s Mesocosm facility mimics the ocean environment. She further highlights a number of bioplastic issues and the policy implications of her research.
