The Sherwood Group showcased Puracoat – a grease resistant, biodegradable alternative to plastic food barrier packaging – during Packaging Innovations 2019 in Birmingham, UK. Speaking to PackagingInsights, Chris Waplington, UK Packaging Manager for Sherwood, highlights the numerous benefits of Puracoat, including its flexible application levels, biodegradability in combination with certified cartonboard and suitability for freezing and heating in microwaves and ovens. Puracoat was developed in response to the growing problem of plastic waste.
