The Ball Corporation has supplied Münsterland J. Lülf with aluminum 250 mL cans in slim format for its special edition flavored milks featuring characters from the new SpongeBob SquarePants film.
Ball says the launch highlights its “strength in combining premium design with compelling on-pack storytelling — turning each can into a canvas that connects brands with consumers.”
Jag Bains, vice president for Commercial EMEA at Ball, says: “Beverage cans protect milk from light and air, which helps preserve its taste and nutritional value — particularly important for products with delicate flavorings like vanilla, chocolate, or fruit infusions.”
“They also chill quickly and stay cold longer, making them ideal for refreshing dairy drinks. We created a design that connects with consumers through familiar characters, while highlighting the circularity of aluminum. It’s a playful way to show that sustainability can be simple, engaging, and part of everyday life.”

Creative expression through cans
The range includes three flavors, each featuring a different character. Banana with SpongeBob SquarePants, strawberry with Patrick Star, and chocolate featuring Sandy Cheeks. The cans also feature the slogan “Recycling is fun!”.
Guenter Spiekermann, head of Sales and Marketing at Münsterland, a German milk and drink supplier, adds: “We are excited to bring our consumers something special.”
“The flavors are already fan favorites, and now, with SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy joining the line-up, they become collectible and even more enjoyable. At the same time, this partnership with Ball allows us to communicate the importance of recycling in a fun and accessible way.”
Ball highlights: “The project for SpongeBob SquarePants Flavored Milk is the latest example of how advanced design and printing capabilities help brands stand out and create deeper consumer engagement through bold creative expression at the point of sale.”
